Levels of Care
From Detox to Outpatient — Treatment That Meets You Where You Are
Recovery isn't one program — it's a continuum. Legacy Healing Center Los Angeles provides every level of care most clients need on one campus, from in-house medically supervised detox through residential / inpatient stabilization and into structured outpatient (PHP, IOP, and standard OP). Below is the at-a-glance map of what your treatment journey can look like in LA.
Medical Detox
Medically supervised detox is the safe, monitored first step for clients withdrawing from alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, or stimulants — and it happens right here on our LA campus. Our on-site medical team provides 24/7 nursing and physician oversight, manages withdrawal symptoms and medications, and keeps you comfortable, then steps you seamlessly into our own residential or outpatient programs the moment you're cleared. You are never left to navigate withdrawal alone.
Learn moreResidential / Inpatient Rehab
For clients who need 24-hour structure, our luxury residential program in the hills above Los Angeles provides a fully supported, distraction-free environment for the acute phase of treatment. Daily clinical programming, on-site nursing, psychiatric care, trauma-informed therapy, and private accommodations with chef-prepared meals — then a planned step-down into PHP or IOP when you're clinically ready.
Learn moreOutpatient (PHP · IOP · OP)
Our outpatient continuum: Partial Hospitalization (PHP) for clients needing residential-level intensity while sleeping at home or in sober living; Intensive Outpatient (IOP) for clients rebuilding work and family life around treatment; and standard Outpatient (OP) for long-term sustained recovery. Most clients step through all three levels as they progress.

Our Levels of Care
Programs Tailored to Where You Are in Recovery
Legacy Healing Center Los Angeles offers a full continuum of addiction services — from in-house medical detox through luxury residential and structured outpatient — so clients can step through care while we handle every logistical detail.

Program
In-House Medical Detox
Withdrawal from alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, or stimulants can be dangerous and shouldn't be done alone. That's why medically supervised detox happens on-site at our LA campus, with 24/7 nursing and physician oversight to keep you safe and as comfortable as possible. Our medical team manages your symptoms and medications around the clock, then steps you seamlessly into our own residential or outpatient programs the moment you're stabilized — all under one roof, confidential, and free from out-of-pocket surprises.

Program
Luxury Residential / Inpatient Rehab
Our flagship LA residence provides 24-hour clinical care in a private, hotel-quality environment in the hills above Los Angeles. Days are structured around individual therapy, small-group sessions, psychiatric medication management, family programming, and complementary wellness (yoga, breath-work, fitness). Private accommodations, chef-prepared meals, and a low client-to-staff ratio mean you get the clinical intensity of inpatient treatment without the institutional feel. Residential is the right step for clients who need full structure during the acute phase of recovery, and it transitions seamlessly into PHP or IOP when you're ready.

Program
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
PHP is our most intensive outpatient option — full-day clinical treatment five days a week, with five to six hours of programming daily. Sessions combine individual therapy, group therapy, psychiatric medication management, family work, relapse prevention, and life-skills education in a predictable, supportive schedule. Most clients return to private sober living or home at night, which keeps you connected to your support network while still receiving residential-level care intensity. PHP is ideal as a step-down from residential or detox, or as the right starting point for clients with significant clinical needs who don't require 24-hour supervision.

Program
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
IOP is structured group and individual therapy three to five days per week — typically nine to fifteen hours of programming weekly — while you live at home or in sober living. Sessions cover relapse prevention, CBT and DBT skills, dual-diagnosis support, family dynamics, trauma processing, and medication management. IOP is built for LA clients ready to rebuild a life around their recovery: keeping a job, raising a family, or finishing school while still receiving meaningful clinical support. Evening tracks are available for working professionals across Los Angeles.

Program
Standard Outpatient Program (OP)
Standard Outpatient is the long-term anchor of sustained recovery: weekly individual therapy, ongoing psychiatric medication management, monthly relapse-prevention groups, and case management for life issues that can derail sobriety (legal, employment, housing, family). OP is the right step for clients who have completed residential, PHP, or IOP and want to keep momentum, accountability, and clinical guidance long after the acute phase of treatment. We typically see clients in OP for six to twelve months, though many alumni stay connected through quarterly check-ins indefinitely. The schedule is built around your work and family life, not the other way around.

Program
Dual Diagnosis Treatment
Substance use and mental health conditions almost always travel together — research shows roughly half of adults with a substance use disorder also live with depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, or another co-occurring condition. Our integrated dual-diagnosis track treats both at once, because treating one without the other almost always leads to relapse. Care includes psychiatric evaluation and medication management, trauma-informed individual therapy, condition-specific group therapy, family education, and ongoing dual-track relapse prevention. This is the only approach with strong evidence for lasting recovery in co-occurring disorders, and it is the standard at Legacy Healing LA — not an add-on.

Program
Aftercare & Alumni Support
Recovery doesn't end the day you graduate from a program — that's actually when the hardest, longest stretch begins. Our LA alumni team keeps you connected with weekly recovery groups, sober social events, peer mentorship pairings, ongoing case management, and direct clinical re-engagement the moment life gets shaky. Whether you need help finding a sponsor, navigating a job change, supporting a family member who's also seeking help, or simply talking through a difficult anniversary, alumni support is there. The goal: nobody walks out our doors and disappears. Aftercare is included with every level of care.

FAQ
Common Questions About Addiction Treatment in LA
How fast can I get into treatment?
We offer same-day admissions whenever clinically appropriate. Once you call, an admissions counselor will conduct a free, confidential assessment, verify your insurance, and walk you through next steps. Many clients are in care within 24 hours.
Will my insurance cover treatment?
We accept most major commercial insurance plans, including Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Anthem, United, Humana, and many California carriers. Our team will verify your specific benefits — including any deductible, copay, and out-of-pocket costs — before you start.
Is treatment confidential?
Yes. Legacy Healing Center is fully HIPAA-compliant, and all calls, assessments, and treatment records are confidential. We never share information with employers, family members, or anyone else without your written consent (except in emergencies as required by law).
What's the difference between residential, PHP, IOP, and outpatient?
Residential is 24-hour care in our private LA campus. PHP is the most intensive outpatient — full clinical days, five days per week. IOP runs three to five days per week for several hours daily. Standard outpatient is typically once a week. Most clients step down through these levels as they progress; our clinical team helps you find the right starting point.
Do you treat co-occurring mental health conditions?
Yes. Our dual diagnosis program treats addiction alongside conditions like depression, anxiety, PTSD, and bipolar disorder simultaneously — which research consistently shows is the most effective approach for lasting recovery when both are present.
What happens after treatment ends?
Aftercare is built into every program. You'll have a discharge plan, ongoing therapy if needed, alumni support, and access to your case manager. Recovery is long-term — we stay connected long after your last clinical session.
